Dangerous Defective Drugs & Medical Devices

Nothing is more frightening and nowhere are people more vulnerable than when confronted with dangerous, undisclosed side effects of a medication or a defective medical device they believed was curing an illness instead of causing one. Collectively, Carella Byrne attorneys have decades of experience litigating class actions and mass torts on behalf of plaintiffs who have been harmed by drug and medical equipment manufacturers.

Carella Byrne attorneys are currently litigating the following cases and would be happy to speak to you if you believe you might be impacted by these or any other defective drug or medical device matter. No question is too small. Please contact us today.

  • In re: Elmiron (Pentosan Polysulfate Sodium) Products Liability Litigation, MDL No. 2973 (D.N.J.): Carella Byrne Partner Caroline F. Bartlett was appointed by the Court to the leadership of this multidistrict litigation as Plaintiffs’ Liaison Counsel. This lawsuit alleges that the manufacturers of the drug Elmiron, used to treat bladder pain associated with interstitial cystitis, concealed and failed to warn doctors and patients about its dangerous side effects which can cause irreversible vision damage.
  • In re: Allergan Biocell Textured Breast Implant Products Liability Litigation, MDL No. 2921 (D.N.J.): Carella Byrne was appointed liaison counsel in mass tort and class action litigation on behalf of women who received these devices and who suffered pain and suffering or incurred economic loss. This lawsuit alleges that certain Allergan implants and spacers can cause anaplastic large cell lymphoma, a rare form of non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma.
