Patrick J. Doherty

Patrick has managed and participated in every stage of the litigation lifecycle, with a particularly robust background in discovery and pre-trial motion practice. He has taken and defended depositions, successfully argued motions, including opposing motions to dismiss and compel, and participated in settlement conferences. He has also contributed to favorable outcomes in dispositive motion practice, including motions for summary judgment, to compel arbitration, and in limine. Patrick also has extensive experience attending court conferences, coordinating directly with clients, adversaries, experts, and court staff, and drafting pleadings, discovery, and motions.

Prior to joining the firm, Patrick gained concentrated experience handling complex medical malpractice and nursing home neglect matters, where he managed day-to-day case development and developed substantial courtroom and litigation experience. Patrick has also been involved in matters extending across a variety of claims and issues, including commercial litigation, products liability, premises liability, and corporate defense.

After graduating summa cum laude from the Honors College at West Virginia University, where he received the Most Outstanding Senior Award in Sociology, Patrick earned his law degree, along with a Master of Sports Law and Business, from Sandra Day O’Connor College of Law at Arizona State University. There, he was a member of the O’Connor Honors Program, a Pedrick Scholar, and participated in a broad range of activities, organizations, and competitions. While in law school, he also laid the foundation for his current practice through his work as a summer associate and extern at multiple firms, including helping secure a favorable, precedent-setting decision by drafting the opening and reply appellate briefs.
