Joining Carella Byrne in 2025 upon passing the New York bar, and admission to the New Jersey bar, associate Neslihan (“Nesli”) Talu brings courtroom insight, law firm experience, and mediation training to her litigation-focused practice.
Nesli graduated from CUNY Baruch College with a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science, and minor in Law and Policy. She earned her Juris Doctorate from New York Law School, where she completed her Alternative Dispute Resolution Certification, and trained as a Student Mediator, which provided her with additional skills for success as an advocate.
As a law clerk to the Hon. Elissa Mizzone Testa of the New Jersey Superior Court, Nesli gained valuable courtroom experience while assisting the judge with managing evidence, researching and advising the judge on relevant law, and drafting orders. She also honed her mediation skills in the Family Division and Civil Division. During her clerkship, Nesli was recognized for her volunteer services on the Health and Wellness Committee.
Prior to her clerkship, Nesli served as a student intern at the U.S. Department of Labor, Office of Labor Management Standards, where she assisted federal investigators with Labor-Management Reporting and Disclosure Act compliance. Nesli observed the development of strategy in resolving complex investigative matters, which gave her the necessary tools to strategize as an effective litigator.
Nesli recognizes that negotiated resolutions are often preferable over protracted conflict. She is well-equipped to obtain such outcomes in complex cases.
