Francis C. Hand has been of counsel with the firm since April 2000. He was a partner in the patent law firm of Kenyon & Kenyon for over 20 years and later moved his practice from the patent firm of McAulay, Nissen, Goldberg, Kiel, and Hand in New York to our firm in New Jersey. He has broad experience prosecuting patent applications before the US Patent and Trademark Office and foreign patent offices, having obtained over 800 United States patents in an eclectic range of disciplines, winning numerous appeals, and successfully defending several Inter Partes Reexaminations.
Francis also has broad experience in the prosecution of trademark applications and has been a member of various committees of the International Trademark Association over several years. He has successfully litigated various patent infringement suits before the United States District Courts of New York, New Jersey, California, and North Carolina.
