Dr. Alan J. Grant
Dr. Alan J. Grant has practiced patent law since 1986. Dr. Grant graduated from St Francis College, Brooklyn, New York in 1972 with a B.S. degree in Biology, a Doctor of Philosophy degree in Biochemistry from SUNY-Downstate Medical Center, Brooklyn, New York, and a Juris Doctor Degree from Brooklyn Law School. He has had extensive experience in patent prosecution of biotechnology, heavy licensing work, prior art searching, opinions, client counseling, patent strategy, and portfolio.
Dr. Grant has worked as a biomedical researcher for NIH at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center and New York's Cornell University College of Medicine, in the Chemistry Department at New York University. His research results are published in well-known journals, including Cancer Research, Biochemistry, Journal of Medicinal Chemistry, Biochemical Pharmacology, Biochimica Biophysica Acta and Journal of Clinical Investigation.
He is a member of the New York State Bar Association and is admitted to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office as an attorney in New York state courts as well as in both the Southern and Eastern Federal District Courts and the United States Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit.
